INDIAN ROCKS BEACH, FL — June 30, 2025 — Indian Rocks Christian School is proud to announce the hiring of Lou Chapman as the new Head Coach of the Boys Varsity Basketball program.
A veteran coach and servant leader, Coach Chapman brings more than two decades of coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, and elite camp levels — with a proven record of both athletic success and life-changing mentorship for young men. Most recently, Chapman served as the Lead Assistant at the prestigious University School of Milwaukee, following impactful roles as Associate Head Coach at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Head Coach at multiple Wisconsin high schools.
In addition to his coaching career, Coach Chapman has made his home in St. Petersburg, where he’s actively working to expand his Basketball Camp brand in Pinellas County. His leadership in developing youth basketball opportunities and his heart for community impact have already made a strong mark in the local area.
“The strength and sincerity of the references behind Lou Chapman spoke volumes during our hiring process,” said Ryan Johnson, Athletic Director at Indian Rocks Christian School. “From collegiate coaches to respected leaders in the basketball community, the consistent message was clear: Lou is a transformational leader who elevates programs and transforms lives. We’re confident he will deliver an outstanding basketball experience for our student-athletes, one that raises the competitive standard of our program while developing the Christ-like character of our young men.”
Chapman's resume includes serving as Associate Head Coach on Wisconsin-Whitewater’s 2012 NCAA Division III National Championship team and founding one of the most successful Nike Basketball Camp operations in the Midwest, growing from 85 participants to over 1,300 annually. His network includes respected names at every level of the sport who speak to his character, leadership, and commitment to young athletes.
Chapman will officially begin his role immediately, with summer workouts and team meetings planned in July.
